"on Christmas morning..."

We brought almost all of our Christmas traditions with us to 29 Palms: eating a birthday cake for Jesus, opening our big stockings first, listening to Raffi's christmas songs, stretching out the present-opening process as long as possible, walking the neighborhood as a family, eating the best brunch in the world (coffee cake, grits, grapefruit, quiche).  It was wonderful to be together with almost all of the family, Jon's absence was felt by all.  Christmas is just about being together with the ones you love, location is trivial.
